Hajia  Najatu Muhammad, a northern politician and activist who campaigned for President Buhari during the 2015 presidential election was appointed as the chairperson of the Federal university Dutse following the sack of the 12 VCs of the established  Federal universities. She got to know about her appointment in the newspaper and rejected the appointment using same newspaper. She used the quarter page of Daily Trust newspaper publication today, to announce her rejection of an appointments.

In her publication, Najatu said she was rejecting her appointment to serve as Chairperson of Federal University Dutse for personal reasons. She said she used the pages of a newspaper to reject the appointment because that was how she got to know of her appointment. She said she was not consulted by anybody before being appointed.
