Chief Audu was in the sitting room watching football when they entered the house with blood stains. The was surprised to see them come back early and was more surprised when he saw them in blood stains. He quickly stood up from the couch.
"What happened Bala?"He asked. They looked at each other. "Am I not asking you people? Tunji tell me what is happening? Where is my daughter?"
"Sir..." Bala paused and look at Tunji.
"If you don't tell me what is happening,I will shoot both of you." He shouted.
"It is about Janet sir." Tunji said.
"Ehen! What about her. What has happened to my daughter?" He asked confused. Ann came out of her bedroom to check see what the problem is that is making her father to shout by the time of the night.
"Sir,the plan failed. The car she entered belongs to some ritualist. They cut off her head and throw her away." Bala said in a shaky voice.
"What? Who used my daughter for rituals? It can't be. My Janet can't be dead. If this is a joke then stop it. It is too expensive." He said angrily.
"Her body is in the car sir." Ann couldn't believe what she just heard. Her sister can't be dead. She saw her few hours ago full of life. She stood there like a zombie shaking. She was trying to come down from the stairs when she lost hold of her self and fell down. The sound of her collapsing drew their attention.
"No no no no! I can't loose two daughters tonight. Go get her you fools!"He shouted at them. They ran to where she was lying down and brought her to the sitting room. They laid her down on the cushion. Tunji rushed to the kitchen and came back with a glass of water. He sprinkled it on her and she gasped.
"Where is Janet father?" Was what she first said when she woke up. That made her father boost into a loud bitter cry full of pains.
"Janet is dead Ann." He said in tears.
"She can't be dead. I saw her few hours ago. Dad please tell me this isn't true. Tell me iam dreaming." She said tears rooling down her chick.
" Your sister is dead.They killed Janet." They both started crying. Ann was shievering. She was shocked. The cry from father and daughter woke up other workers that were asleep. When they were told what happened,they started wailing. All one could hear was cry from different direction. The body was later moved to the mortuary. They lied that her headless body was found infront of her father's house. Everyone believed the lie. Only Four of them know what happened.
Janet wasburied a week after amidst tears in her father's house. Ann couldn't hold back tears. She cried throughout the burial process. Anybody that see chief Audu and his daughter will know that they are in great pain. Ann's maternal aunt have to move in to help both father and daughter.
Patrick and his mother visited them to console with the family when they came back from their trip to Norway. Mrs Cynthia went to Norway with Patrick for a minor surgery when the incidenthappened. They were with them from morning till late in the evening. Chief Audu thanked them and promise to visit them immediately everything become normal.
Patrick took two weeks break from work so that he will be with Ann who hardly eat or talk. The only thing she do is look at the old picture of her sister then cry. With Patrick by her side,she began to live a normal life.
Chief Audu sat on a stool inthe shrine. He was wearing only a white wrapper around his waist and held a black calabash. a white goat was tied beside him. The Oracle, a woman in her eighties appeared with a big calabash on her head. She was naked apart from the beads around her waist.
"What can i do for you Olenta?"She asked.
"Iam here to seek for your help in avenging my daughter's death. I want her killers to suffer. They will pay with their lives. I want them dead." He said bowing.
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! This is a minor case. Take the knife and remove The goat's heart. Dry the heart then mix it with this powder. Get one of her pictures and burn it then put it inside. She will rise and revenge for herself." She giggled.
"How can a dead person rise?"He asked confused.
"She is not going to rise but her spirit will. It will occupy another body and carry it revenge. Now do as you are instructed." She said then disappeared. He took the knife and stabbed the goat in the chest. He opened it chest and brought out the heart. Blood splashed all over the place. He said some incantations and the dead goat vanished. The chuckled,snapped his hand then disappeared also.
He stood beside the grave crying. He held a black calabash in his left hand and a lamp in the right hand.
"My dear Janet, they took your away from me but today iam bringing you back to revenge. I want them to pay for their crime. They will suffer. I wantthe head of every man that is behind your death. Bring me their head and their love ones will suffer also. Rise my daughter!" He shouted pouring the powder on the grave. suddenly thick black smoke started coming out from the grave.The smoke covered everywhere. Gradually, it began to form the shape of a human. Standing infront of chief Audu is his beautiful daughter. She was raging and moving from one place to another. The anger on her face made him shiever. He have never seen his daughter as angry as she is today. She looked at him then circled round him. She ran out of the house with the speed of lightening and making a sound that can make someone defecate in his or her body. Chief Audu collapsed on his knells and started shivering. He have seen something he pray never to see again in his life.
